About Us

The DLI Foundation Board is an all volunteer organization. No member is compensated in any way for the work they do with the Foundation.

Our Mission

The primary purpose of the DLI Foundation is to encourage the pursuit of academic and linguistic excellence at the DLIFLC, promote foreign language proficiency throughout the United States, increase public awareness of the importance of foreign language proficiency, and support the camaraderie and fraternity of DLIFLC alumni.

How do we do this?

We work with command staff and others to engage the students in morale boosting activities by facilitating unit balls, raising funds to support teams, and improving their surroundings.

We have supported and promoted academic and linguistic excellence at DLI by providing awards to outstanding students.

We represent DLI as alumni and former staff at speaking engagements in local schools and affinity organizations (ie. VFW, Legion, AMVETS, Rotary, etc.)

We support the camaraderie and fraternity of our fellow alumni (and friends) by facilitating events such as the 75th Anniversary Ball, regional alumni gatherings, social media interaction, and participation on the Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

We are an all-volunteer organization. No member is compensated in any way for their involvement with the Foundation. Neither do we receive any government support for what we do, relying entirely on the philanthropy of our loyal alumni and friends to achieve our goals.
